To Ink or Not To Ink?

That is the question.

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to leave yon sequential art page as is for the purpose of digital enhancement, or thence ... Ah, this Shakespeare metaphor is corny and complicated. 

What I'm trying to say is I scanned this pencilled comic page (and with my abbreviated scanner, it wasn't easy), and I figured I could make adjustments in GIMP so that the line art would be dark enough so that it wouldn't need ink. Turns out it still looks like pencils, and an outside opinion (my sister) says it should be inked anyway. 

This also further complicates the situation more so than it has already. Should it be inked digitally or traditionally? Should I even ink it at all and just keep the pencil version just for archival purposes. Keep in mind that all working files are HUGE!
