Talking Kawaii-Chan Doll

Description

If anyone is a fan of the Aphmau YouTube channel, you'll know who this cute cat-girl with the even cuter voice and speech combo is. So I thought, "She would make a great subject for a talking doll," and with technology being the way it is, it should be no problem.

I based my idea on an item called a Personal Soundtrack T-shirt (available from Thinkgeek.com, but highly fragile in the wiring department), which is a basic soundbox that would respond to input with the appropriate sound clip. Of course, in this proof-of-concept (+1000 for using industry buzzwords), the box will just be a basic Raspberry Pi computer programmed to play random Kawaii-Chan phrases such as, "Hello! My name is Kawaii-Chan. It's nice to meet you." and "Want to help Kawaii-Chan bake some sweet treats?" and naturally, "You're Kawaii-Chan's best friend." As illustrated, when the trigger button is pressed, it will send the signal to the Raspberry Pi to play one of the random phrases through the speaker in the face. It's like she's talking directly to you during playtime.

And of course, we have Kawaii-Chan, complete with pink hair, cat-ears and tail, wearing her favorite pink maid outfit ready to bake sweets or create ships or whatever else Kawaii-Chan is best at.

I hope Jess (Aphmau) notices this and decides this would make great merchandise to help promote her channel more.

sounds neat, and talking dolls are certainly a proven hit if Tickle Me Elmo is any indication.  Have you shared this drawing with Jess?  Sounds like the most straightforward way to get her opinion.
